Meet the Team

Katie is a visual artist, designer, and creative strategist based in New York City. For over 7 years, she has worked across visual art, design, and community programming, always looking for new ways to help people connect through creative work.

She is known for building creative experiences that say what words alone cannot. To Katie, art is a bridge. It carries thoughts, feelings, and stories from one person to another in ways that nothing else quite can.

Katie grew up surrounded by disability and took part in inclusive arts programs from a young age. Those experiences gave her a deep respect for the many ways people create, think, and express themselves. Her own experience living with Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome deepened her belief that every person deserves access to creative exploration, on their own terms, in their own way.

Her background spans visual art, graphic design, education, beauty, community programming, and more. She brings the full range of that experience to her work at Shagara.

As Creative Director, Katie shapes the visual identity, programs, and creative experiences that bring the Shagara community together. She believes creativity is one of the most powerful tools we have, not just for making things, but for understanding each other.
